His Ways His Thoughts, His Incredible Love For us

Just when you're feeling defeated... the Hand of God appears. I awoke early with a heavy heart. My mind busy with the thoughts of yesterday. I grabbed a cup of coffee and went outside to talk with God just as I do every morning, and I was stopped at the sight of this cross in the dirt. This wasn't there when I was out last evening. But now there it is. As I looked at it with almost an amusement thinking "Father thank you". I couldn't miss it, I had to literally step over it to get to my chair on the porch. I set the thought of it away for the moment and went into prayer. I was praying and emptied my sadness to the Father. I cried for understanding and wisdom feeling a bit defeated from the events of the night before. I heard the still voice inside my spirit to trust God. I repeated this in my prayer, "oh God my God I do trust you, help me put away my disappointment." I prayed but there was still a feeling of hurt in my soul. Scriptures came to my mind as I prayed and I thought about King David and the psalms. So many psalms were about the enemies around the king. David was feeling hard pressed on every side. He spoke about his enemies having their bows drawn and encamped around him. What is wonderful about the psalms is how the prayers for help are followed by songs praising God. The longer I prayed and laid every uneasy thought before the Lord the more I began to feel better. I finished my prayer still in tears but remembering our God is Faithful and Merciful. I know things are not always easy, sometimes rocks are put in our path but our God Always makes a way around the obstacles. After I finished my prayer, I went back over to the cross in the dirt. This time when I looked at it I noticed a rock at the base. Immediately I thought about the hymn lyrics, " on Christ the solid rock I stand all other ground is sinking sand" Jesus Christ is our Rock our foundation, and his sacrifice on the cross for us is everything we need. God is our fortress and our refuge our strong tower our salvation, He has never failed us and his plans are perfect. Though we may not understand we remember "His thoughts are not our thoughts"
Isaiah 55 : 8-10 8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. 9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. 10 For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater
What an awesome God we serve and we can rest in Him for his ways are perfect even when we do not understand. Let us dwell in the Goodness of God as we walk towards our eternal home.
God is the rock, the foundation of all that is good.
