Subject: IN THE NEWS 2/15/2024 THURSDAY

LKY: Great clips/quotes from national news with links to go deeper:

Senator Chip Roy (R-TX): …I've never seen the nursing home known as the United States Senate work harder than when it comes to spending the American people's money for foreign wars. That's what's going on here. And by the way, is there anything more cynical than having Republicans sitting around defending their votes to send $60 billion to Ukraine, than saying that it will help our defense-industrial base, that that will help American businesses. Since when do we have economic development that is being driven by funding war overseas? That's what's happening in the U.S. Senate, because anybody that's sane and sees what's happening at our southern border would know that you cannot fund foreign wars, while our border is wide open and exposed to criminals and lawlessness and terrorists that are coming across the border.

Carson Holloway contributor to The American Mind: The failure of the Senate border and security bill is emblematic of a collapse of confidence in the nation’s leadership, as complete as the breach of trust that led the Founders to issue the Declaration of Independence. Past a certain point, “compromise,” even on apparently advantageous grounds, looks unreasonable because one side—for the Founders, the King; and for Republican voters today, the engineers of the collapse of our borders—appears utterly untrustworthy.

David Deavel contributor to The Imaginative Conservative: As for human institutions that have gone astray, my view is that they are only dead branches hanging on to the trees of education, religion, and society to which my real loyalty lies. I would rather the dead wood of such institutions be pruned away so that the true wood can grow.

Stephen Kruiser contributor to P.J Media: Seriously though, it's valid to wonder if Republicans in Congress (either chamber) ever ponder the long-term consequences of any of their actions. There are far too many petty ego squabbles and media suck-up opportunities to be dealt with every day to worry about things like, say, the survival of the Republic. As long as everyone still has their invitations to the right Beltway happy hours at the end of the day, all is well.

Todd Bensman contributor to Middel East Forum: A terrorist plot to smuggle an ISIS assassin team from Iraq across our southern border is wrapping up just in time to remind Americans the worst mass-migration crisis in US history comes with a high price: an elevated national-security threat. The obscure federal prosecution of an Ohio Iraqi, Shihab Ahmed Shihab, for his plan to assassinate former President George W. Bush demonstrates better than anything that violent Islamic extremists have learned the US southern border has a wide-open back door.

Olivia Murray contributor to American Thinker: There are countless similarities between Nikki Haley and Hillary Clinton, with the former even crediting the latter as her inspiration for entering the world of politics; both are warmongers, both are extremely unlikeable, both will have a failed presidential campaign under their belts, and both are apparently unteachable regarding the fact that we live in an era of cameras, because they can’t stop from lying and flip-flopping, despite the guarantee that their words are being video-recorded and documented.

BIDEN CRIME FAMILY

Miller: Bobulinski Bombshell: Joe Biden 'Enabled' Family to Sell Access to 'Most Dangerous Adversaries' of U.S.

Fox News Digital obtained a copy of Bobulinski’s prepared opening statement. Testifying behind closed doors, Bobulinski will say that from his "direct personal experience," it's "clear" that Joe Biden was "'the Brand' being sold by the Biden family.’"

Solomon: House investigators probing whether Joe Biden used bank account to take money from grandkids

House impeachment investigators have identified a newly discovered bank account and are probing a suggestion from a witness that the account may have been used to route money to President Joe Biden from his grandchildren, the lead investigator tells Just the News. House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer said the new information is among a body of evidence that may eventually lead Congress to subpoena the personal bank and credit card records of America’s 46th president.

Dilanian & Alba: Biden attacked Hur for asking him when Beau died. That didn't happen, sources say.

President Joe Biden lashed out at Robert Hur last week over one particular line in the special counsel's report on his handling of classified documents: that Biden "did not remember, even within several years, when his son Beau died." “How in the hell dare he raise that?” Biden told reporters in an impromptu White House press conference. “Frankly, when I was asked the question, I thought to myself, it wasn’t any of their damn business.” But Hur never asked that question, . . .

BIDEN’S DEMOCRAT PARTY MARXIST PLAYBOOK: PERSECUTE YOUR OPPOSITION, PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP & HIS FORMER TRUMP EMPLOYEES, SUPPORTERS & WH STAFF

Whedon: Supreme Court asks special counsel for response to Trump bid to block immunity ruling

The Supreme Court on Tuesday issued an order requiring that special counsel Jack Smith respond to former President Donald Trump's request that the high court block a D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals rulings rejecting his presidential immunity claims. The court set a deadline for Smith's reply of Feb. 20, The Hill reported. He may, however, submit his reply earlier.

Brief asking disqualification of Fani Willis: State of Georgia v, Michael Roman

Revolver.news: Superior Court Judge just dropped a nuke on Big Fani’s fanny…

If Big Fani was under the impression she could glide past this scandal without a scratch, she’s in for a rude awakening. Things are heating up fast. […] Here’s what Professor Turley had to say about the latest events: . . . […] It’s refreshing to finally see justice being served against someone many of us thought was untouchable. It’s clear that the judge is not finding anything amusing about this situation or what Fani’s been up to.

Cathell: Fani Willis Could Be Saved by Her Father

An unlikely figure may swoop in to save the embattled and enamored Fani Willis. A handful of the Fulton County district attorney's allies and associates are expected to testify at Thursday's highly anticipated evidentiary hearing on the prosecutorial misconduct claims Willis is facing over her admitted affair with top Trump prosecutor Nathan Wade. Among the pro-Willis witnesses is the Democrat DA's father, who co-founded the Black Panthers Political Party.

Street: What the Media hasn't Told you About Carroll v. Trump

By now, everyone in the entire world heard about a New York federal jury’s award of $83 million dollars to E. Jean Carroll against Donald J. Trump for what she claims was a sexual assault in a Bergdorf’s dressing room. The verdict itself consists of $18.3 million dollars in compensatory damages and $65 million in punitive damages. What virtually no one reports is these damage awards are grossly excessive. The overwhelming likelihood is Donald Trump won’t have to pay anywhere near this amount of money, even if his efforts to reverse the verdict altogether fail. Let’s take a closer look at the reasons why. Some background is in order for readers to understand the case and its complicated procedural posture.

Gomez: Dershowitz Lays Out ‘Issues’ Within Willis’ Alleged Misconduct, Questions ‘Scope’ That Could Lead To Criminal Charges

Dershowitz appeared on “Hannity” to discuss a motion to disqualify Willis over allegations that she financially benefited from appointing Wade as a special counsel on her case against former President Donald Trump while engaging in a romantic relationship. Fox host Sean Hannity questioned the former law professor on a new ruling in Willis’ case, in which the presiding judge declined to immediately decide if Willis and other witnesses would be required to testify later this week. Dershowitz stated the “two issues” he saw with the Willis case . . .

Shellenberger, Taibbi & Guttentag: CIA Had Foreign Allies Spy On Trump Team, Triggering Russia Collusion Hoax, Sources Say

Now, multiple credible sources tell Public and Racket that the United States Intelligence Community (IC), including the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), illegally mobilized foreign intelligence agencies to target Trump advisors long before the summer of 2016. The new information fills many gaps in our understanding of the Russia collusion hoax and is supported by testimony already in the public record. Until now, the official story has been that the FBI’s investigation began after Australian intelligence officials told US officials that a Trump aide had boasted to an Australian diplomat that Russia had damning material about Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. In truth, . . .

Revolver.news: Watch: Does President Trump have that missing CIA binder that the Deep State is sooooo desperate to find? New info emerges

Where’s the binder? That’s the burning question echoing through the swampy marshes of DC, and it’s been hanging in the air for some time. Rumor has it, this binder is packed with the real story behind the Russia Hoax—a narrative that deviates sharply from the widely reported “tip” originating from our Australian pals. Insiders suggest this saga didn’t kick off on some whim but was a coordinated effort by the CIA, Obama, and the FBI. CNN, of course, spins it as a dossier uncovering Russia’s plot to meddle in elections. Yet, the buzz among those in the know hints it’s more about how the US played its own hand in the 2020 election meddling saga. […] That binder is thought by many to be in President Trump’s possession, and that’s the real reason the FBI raided Mar-a-Lago. […] This revelation is mind-blowing. We’re talking about a whole cabal of people, each deeply entrenched and actively engaged in pushing this hoax, and every one of them ought to be staring down the barrel of serious legal consequences. However,

Richards & Solomon: Homeland admitted in emails it fails to track illegal immigrants released into US interior

Newly uncovered emails between Department of Homeland Security officials and journalists show the agency tasked with protecting U.S. border and domestic security admitted it is not tracking illegal immigrants after they were released from federal custody into the interior of the country. In the emails obtained by the watchdog group Protect the Public’s Trust in a Freedom of Information Act request, one DHS official told a Washington Post reporter off the record he could not say how many immigrants are settling in Northern states via border state busing programs because the agency does not track those released from their custody.

Sundance: House Intel Chairman Proclaims Russians from Space Are Coming After USA

Today, Chairman Mike Turner shocked the DC system by proclaiming Russians from Outer Space were coming to destroy us.  This “deadly Russians” narrative, as sold by Mike Turner, supports: (1) Ukraine funding, (2) FISA reauthorization and the (3) “seven ways to Sunday” Deep State. […] A vague warning by the chair of the House Intelligence Committee about a “serious national security threat” Wednesday is related to Russia’s attempts to develop an antisatellite nuclear weapon for use in space, according to two people familiar with the matter. […] Now, right before the latest Dangerous Russians from Outer Space narrative was triggered, guess where Mike Turner was?

TYRANNY IN THE NAME OF CLIMATE DOOM MYTH: GLOBALIST POLITICIANS & BIG BUSINESS ACCUMULATE MORE POWER & CONTROL

(H/T GH) Nickson: All Species Are Thriving but Man

here’s no Sixth Mass Extinction. All those deluded kids vandalizing priceless art and obstructively gluing themselves to pavements are operating on yet another flagrant lie from the leaders of the environmental movement. Every species in the U.S. except the black footed ferret and the California hawk is growing in numbers by leaps and bounds. The Endangered Species Act, generally considered the most powerful law of the land outside the cities, is, however, destroying the human economy, our culture and heritage. I’d go further. The corruption of this well-meant act has inflicted a psychological paralysis upon us. We cannot go forward, we cannot even stay where we are, we must be driven inch by inch into smaller enclosures, with increasingly limited lives. And it’s all based on lies. Unstoppable lies, fanned by every media over and over again. Fanned by princes and kings. A lie that elevates people like David Attenborough, and makes fools out their legacy.

Severi: Climate protesters target Constitution with red powder at National Archives

The Constitution became the latest historic item to be targeted by climate protesters on Wednesday after two protesters dumped red powder on the document’s case. The National Archives said the protesters were immediately detained after the incident, which occurred around 2:30 p.m., and they are recommending the culprits be prosecuted to the “fullest extent of the law.” […] The protesters were part of the climate group Declare Emergency, which claims they are trying to stop the world from ending due to climate change. “We don’t want the end of civilization but that’s the path we’re currently on,” the group posted to X in response to the arrests. “Declare Emergency’s nonviolent civil disobedience is love in action everyday, not just on Valentine’s Day.”

2024 ELECTION

Putin: Biden Better for Russia Than Trump, ‘More Predictable’

Russian President Vladimir Putin said President Joe Biden would be better for Russia than Donald Trump, calling him “old school” and “predictable.” Putin expressed his feelings about Biden during an interview with broadcaster Rossiya 1 TV. “[Biden] is a more experienced, predictable person. He is a politician of the old school. But we will work with any leader of the United States, who is trusted by the American people,” Putin said.

Smith: NATO Members Suddenly Poised To Meet Military Spending Targets Days After Trump Railed Against Alliance

NATO is expected to announce Wednesday that a majority of its members are set to hit their defense spending goals for 2024, days after former President Donald Trump told those who don’t pay their share that he wouldn’t protect them if re-elected. It is estimated that 18 of the 31 NATO members will hit their minimum goal of spending 2% of total gross domestic product on defense budgets for 2024, compared to roughly one-third of the alliance who hit that goal in 2023, according to three alliance officials who spoke to The Financial Times. Trump warned in a speech on Saturday that he would tell Russia “to do whatever the hell they want” to members if they don’t pay their share, should he win a second term.

Bolyard: Is Ohio Senate Candidate Bernie Moreno Who He Claims to Be?

A few weeks ago, I reported that Ohio Senate candidate Bernie Moreno was a member of the board of the Cleveland Foundation when it doled out millions of dollars to Planned Parenthood and other left-wing organizations. It turns out that the Cleveland Foundation wasn't the only board Moreno—who is locked in a tight GOP Senate primary with Sec. of State Frank LaRose and state Sen. Matt Dolan—sat on that made questionable (to say the least) decisions. While Moreno served on the Board of Trustees at Cleveland State University, the school established a partnership with the very questionable Confucius Institute. Moreno, who was anti-Trump before he embraced the former president, had called Trump a “fake Republican” who stokes “hatred and fear” and blamed “ignorance in our society" for his popularity. Nevertheless, Trump has endorsed him in the race and Moreno is now singing a different tune on China.

REPUBLICAN U.S. SENATE MINORITY

Sundance: DC Uniparty Spends Another $95 Billion to Protect Ukraine and Israel Borders… USA, NotSoMuch!

Republican senators Boozman, Capito, Cassidy, Collins, Cramer, Crapo, Hoeven, Ernst, Grassley, Kennedy, McConnell, Moran, Murkowski, Romney, Rounds, Sullivan, Thune, Tillis, Wicker, Young, and Cornyn all voted to send $95 billion to Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan to protect their borders while leaving our borders unprotected. This is the UniParty in all its glory: . . .

Sundance: Rand Paul Gives His Perspective on the UniParty Ukraine Bill

Speaking to reporters February 12th, Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) tore into Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) over his support for the $61 billion, Ukraine aid bill. Rand Paul notes McConnell is going to Ukraine on Friday.

Kight: McConnell urges Mike Johnson to allow vote on Ukraine aid

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell on Tuesday said he hopes Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) won't block the just-passed foreign aid bill from consideration in the House. Why it matters: "I hope the speaker will find a way to allow the House to work its will on the issue of Ukraine aid and the other parts of the bill as well," McConnell told Politico, adding that he doesn't "have any advice" on how Johnson does it. "What I do think is appropriate is for the House to be able to work its will on Ukraine, which obviously was the most controversial part of what we did," McConnell said.

REPUBLICAN U.S. HOUSE MAJORITY

Solender: Mike Johnson signals blockade of Senate national security bill

House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) on Monday warned that the House is unlikely to take up the national security bill set to pass the Senate this week. Why it matters: It's a massive blow to what some lawmakers view as their last shot at passing a comprehensive package this year that includes aid to Ukraine. What he's saying: In a statement on Monday, Johnson criticized the lack of border security provisions in the bill, which is on track to pass the Senate Wednesday morning. "The Senate's foreign aid bill is silent on the most pressing issue facing our country," he said.

Johnson warned that "in the absence of having received any single border policy change from the Senate, the House will have to continue to work its own will on these important matters." The backdrop: . . .

Ngo & Coltin: Democrats win back George Santos seat in hotly contested election

Democrat Tom Suozzi won back his former seat in New York’s 3rd Congressional District, defeating lesser-known Republican rival Mazi Melesa Pilip. […] The results allow Democrats to claim momentum in a crucial election year when control of the House and the presidency are on the ballot.

Ballasy: GOP-led House impeaches Mayorkas on second attempt, delivering historic punishment

The vote pushes two articles of impeachment to the Senate for a potential trial later this year. The two articles alleged that Mayorkas' handling of the southern U.S. border crisis involved both a "breach of trust" and a "willful and systemic refusal to comply with the law."

CHINA: AMERICA’S MORTAL ENEMY

Chang: China's Infiltrators: 'They Are Coming Here to Kill Us'

  • China's Communist Party is at this moment putting in place the infrastructure in America to attack America.

  • [I]n Reedley, California, near Fresno, authorities found a secret Chinese biological weapons lab with at least 20 pathogens, including the one for Ebola, and almost a thousand mice that had been genetically engineered to spread disease.

  • Chinese agents, in addition to hobbling Americans with disease and gunning them down, could bomb power stations, attack military bases, start wildfires, poison reservoirs, or create terror in dozens of ways.

  • These tactics come straight out of Unrestricted Warfare, a 1999 book written by two Chinese air force colonels and first published by the PLA Literature and Arts Publishing House in Beijing. The colonels argued that China can and should employ any tactic in attacking a militarily superior United States. Now, Americans can see how Beijing is operationalizing the suggestions in this how-to manual.

BIDEN/HARRIS/OBAMA’S AMERICA LAST REGIME: RADICAL TRANSFORMATION OF THE U.S. MILITARY

Westgate: Psychic Soldiers in the Aerial Realm of Demons

Despite having one of the most powerful military arsenals in the world, the United States military has actively turned to the occult and opened a gateway to the aerial realm. During the Vietnam war, soldiers had unsuccessfully used witching rods to locate underground Vietcong tunnels.1 Since then, psychic soldiers have successfully been gathering key intel from deep within Russian territories through astral traveling and remote viewing, according to declassified intelligence reports. […] Behind the scenes, the U.S. military commissioned The Monroe Institute to send officers there for out-of-body experience training. Considering the then classified Gateway Process report had been written only 3 years after St. Herman's Press published “The Soul After Death”, it is doubtful Fr. Seraphim could have imagined this phenomena was being weaponized by the U.S military in an ongoing psychic intelligence program.

Stevenson: REVEALED: Biden admin diverts Veterans Affairs resources to illegal immigrants

Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) spoke about the matter with Fox Digital in an interview reported on Tuesday morning. The Alabama senator recently introduced a bill titled the "No VA Resources for Illegal Aliens Act" in order to prevent it from happening again.

BIDEN/HARRIS/OBAMA’S AMERICA LAST REGIME: RADICAL TRANSFORMATION OF FOREIGN POLICY

VDH: The Strange Disconnect Between Israel and Ukraine

he Ukrainian and Israeli wars are similar and yet also different conflicts—but in more ways than we can imagine. Ukraine was invaded by a huge Russian state, with a population three-and-a-half times greater, a gross national product ten times larger, and an area thirty times its size. Hamas, by contrast, is a terrorist clique of about 50,000-70,000 gunmen and terrorist kingpins who run Gaza. It is dwarfed by the Israeli population (20 times larger), economy (27 times greater), and area (60 times larger). Both Russia and Hamas started the wars. Russia was convinced it would easily crush the smaller neighbor. Hamas hoped to spark a pan-Islamic jihad against the Jewish state. Most of Europe, the United States, and the West understandably supported arming Ukraine to repel Vladimir Putin’s Russian aggression. By contrast, such support for democratic Israel was strangely mixed.

Allen: How the Houthis could get revenge on the U.S. for airstrikes by cutting a FIFTH of the world's internet

  • Yemen government warns of threat to 'world's digital infrastructure'

  • Some fiber optic cables lie at only 100 meter depth

  • Analysts warn Houthis could drop depth charges

Iranian-backed Houthi militants in Yemen could try to sabotage internet cables in the Red Sea carrying nearly one fifth of the world's web traffic, according to a spate of new warnings. Yemen's government warned that the Red Sea is 'one of the three most important meeting points for cables' on the globe and the Houthis pose a 'serious threat to one of the most important digital infrastructures in the world.'
